About our Executive Director - George W. Colflesh:
Since
the age of sixteen, when he first worked as a camp counselor, George Colflesh has spent
his life working with youth. This has been primarily defined through his 29 year
association with the Boy Scouts of America as a professional executive. His BSA career
took him from Ohio, Florida, and, in 1978, to New Jersey, where he served as the Executive
Director of the Passaic Valley Council in Wayne, NJ.
During his service in Scouting he visualized other effective means of helping
children grow positively into adulthood that were outside Scouting’s methods.
Encouraging Hope Ministries, Inc., is the culmination of these dreams combined with the best youth work techniques learned in Scouting.
George currently is a volunteer Scoutmaster with the Silver
Beaver Award. Married 38 years, his wife Trudy is a Licensed
Professional Counselor and author recognized by Who’s Who in
America. The Colflesh’s are both active in their church.
